Of Angels and Demons 神煞

Continued from The Diary of A Blind man

It was getting to noon and there was still no signs of her, I was starting to perspires under the hot sun. However, I was impatient to get to see her as I was hoping what my master had find out by just looking at her birth time which was Ding Mao  Hour. I then saw her walking to Old Wang who was sick the last few days and was not around. This time, she was obviously frustrated as at the end she shouted: 'Even you Old Wang cannot read my destiny, I think I have to go to the city instead.'

I then waved my walking stick towards her direction, trying to catch her attention and fortunately she saw it. She hesitated for a while and then she came towards me, saying: ' I thought I am done with you...'

I interrupted her before she go further, also afraid that she might lose her temper as she carries on: 'Oh, I spoke to my master last night and he said he can give you the answers you are looking for but you must wait for the sun to set before I can bring you to him.'

She starts to show annoyance : 'How can I just wait till the evening and go all the way to your place and not knowing whether he really knows or not?'

I then said: 'My master said that it is about your children.'

Her expressions changes immediately and I can tell she was shocked, 'Ehmm, very well, I will go over...'

I then told her : 'But my master wants to have your full bazi chart if you want to have your readings done, if not, he said then he will not do it so as not to waste the time for both sides and he wants double the amount that we normally charges if he is correct.'

She then just nodded her head and look sheepishly.

It was nightfall when we reached my master home, we step into the house and there was no one around as I had put a signboard saying we are closed to visitors for that evening when I went out in the morning. I then prepared for tea and I can hear her telling my master her birth date and my master was using our Meteors Chase Moon method to work out her Birth chart. As I poured tea for my master and her, my master said: 'This is your birth chart and you are a Wood day master and your luck pillar starts from age 4, am I correct?'

She said: ' Yes.'

My master then said: 'Okay, as agreed that you will be paying me double the amount, I will give you a full reading from the age of four onwards and gives you answers for the doubts in your mind?'

She nodded her head, and I tapped on my master on his right thigh to let him know as he can't see.

Master : 'At four, you and your mother left home and you have two fathers....'

Woman: 'Correct.'

Master: 'Your stepfather treats you very well as he had always wanted to have a daughter and you have a very good childhood.'

Woman: 'Yes, he treats me very well.'

Master: 'At the age of seven, you started schooling but at the age of ten, you stopped.'

The woman's face show a look of amazement as she nodded her head and I again tapped my master thigh.

My master then paused and took a sip of the tea and after clearing his throat said:

'You got married as with our custom age at the age of 16 and you pick a match that was far away from your hometown.'

The woman nodded her head again,

'Your husband is very much older than you.'

The woman answered: 'Yes, he is forty years old.'

'From the moment, you step into his house, you became a step mother and your life is destined to have 5 sons and 2 daughters.'

'From then on after the age of twenty to thirty, you bear a lot of hardships.'

As I have seen my master done analysis for many times, I was not surprised at all this information but I was more curious as to why the woman was so anxious over her children and come for fortune telling instead of confiding to her close ones. I was also getting impatient, waiting for my master to come to that part.

Finally, my master as usual when coming to something important start to read a poem: '遇不遇,逢不逢。月沉水底,人在梦中。'

'To meet with purpose or by chance is not fated, just like the reflections of the moon in the water as being in a dream.'

My master then said:

'Lately, these few years, you have been living in torment for not being able to share this matter with anyone at all.'

The woman looks shocked at this but still do not believe that my master knows by insisting: 'Then you tell me what is my problem? '

'From my calculations, it can be seen that you have a lover.'

This time, the woman admitted readily and saying softly: 'Yes...' and she have an excited expression on her face probably maybe from having a chance to say it out finally.

'Then the last two years, another woman comes in between you and your lover, and you will not able to confront her and it has started tormenting you from then.'

I can see teardrops starting to well from her eyes though it was getting dark by then but at that times despite my failing eyesight, I found that I was able to see even clearer in the dark. I then started to nudge my master to stop him as I was worried she will start crying but my master ignored me and carried on:

To be continued............

:   ) Well, I thought for Now, this picture is more suitable as Angels and Demons should be using guns at least instead of swords as in the past.......

Till-then, cheers.
I will be back in the next few days.....

When A Blindman Cries

Taken from Chip and Candi :

West Gate & Blind Fortune Tellers

'Outside every gate in Jingzhou there are blind fortune tellers. This is how they make their living. They sit and wait for someone to ask them to tell their future and then they get paid. It is really sad to see them sitting there waiting everyday.'

Doubel Clicks on the picture to count how many blind people.

The above passage was quoted by a chinese metaphysics blogger:

'Liu Wen Yuan, an indoor disciple of Famous chinese bazi expert Liao Mo Xiang, Daliang, wrote in his book, 'Four Pillars Life Analysis Origins' in a passage on his viewpoints of the New School of Blindman in destiny studies.

'There is nothing to envy about the blindman technique in destiny analysis though they might be extremely accurate in the intitial readings but as it goes further into the analysis, it tends to get more errors prone and this is where we can see the limitations of this technique.

However, I still feel that if you are not a handicapped person (meaning you can still learn from other traditional schools of destiny analysis), you should not compete with these people livelihoods. As a blind person, there are already hardships for them in their daily lives and it is not easy for them to earn a living and yet there are unscrupulous people who try to learn secretly from them through manipulations (The blind apprentice is under oath to pass the knowledge to the blinds only). To learn it for analysing your own destiny is still all-right but then to steal their knowledge and share it publicly by conducting courses where a fees is charged reflected that it is more of a commercial intent. In this instance, where will that leaves the blind man fortune tellers if every normal person can do their unique technique of destiny analysis after learning the so called real blindman theory even if it is the correct stolen techniques.

Although the blind people are handicapped but not so in their hearts. It is unfortunate that people who are not blind but in doing so are themselves in the Dark for not being able to See the Heavens.'

End

Well, I leave it to you readers to decide again on the above comments and as lately I have been busy and to make up for it, let me tell you a story about the accuracy of the fortune telling readings of blindman from a case study in :

The Diary of a Blind Man (Xu Xian Chao)

In the summer of 1993, I had just started learning destiny analysis from a blind bazi master for 2 years and while as usual making a living outside in the Blindman alley, I chanced upon a frantic looking lady. At that time, my failing eyesight could still discern shadows and colors, she looks like a normal housewife but she was very fair looking and young. She was going from one to another of the fortune tellers' stalls however, refusing to pay after the readings was done saying it was incorrect. I can feel that she has some problems from my sixth sense as it is probably to compensate for our handicap. I beckoned her over and ask her: 'Would you like me to read your future?'

She answered back with a question: 'All-right, I can give you by my birth time and you tell me what is my situation now and what is going to happen to me in the future?'

At that time, my knowledge and experience was also almost the same as with rest of them in that alley, I was unable to tell much from her birth data and was hesitant at which she can tell, she then said: 'You are also the same, I don't think you are able to read my destiny.' after which she put a token and walk off.

I have met customers who refused to pay for their readings after being done, some were out to take advantage of us blind people but apparently, this was a different case. I then as usual after the sun starts to set, went back and told my teacher, Ching Feng who is a Taoist master too. My master smiling says: 'If you see her again, you can asked her over and tell her I will give her the answers that she is looking for. But let her comes only after you have finished your work and there is nobody else in our house at that hour.' I was curious too why my master had made such an arrangement on the time as I was also anxious to find out too as nobody in our alley managed to find out her problem.

To be continued...........

For Mulberry, this is her chart and the analysis was done about 18 years ago when she was at Chinese age of 41 in 1993 Gui You Year and still in Wu Wu luck pillar :

Nicholas Tse

Tomb for the Living 生基

An Urn with a small coffin and personal belongings

Taken from Hong Kong News Daily:

Hong Kong Media Expose: A "Live Burial Ritual’ list obtained have the name of popular actor, Nicholas Tse being involved came as a shock to many people.

According to sources, Nicholas Tse was undergoing bad luck, a motoring accident which results in 2 weeks of prison, an assault case and a dip in his popularity in 2002. His mother, Deborah troubled incessantly by this had then approach a spiritual Master in Guangxi, China who uses ‘Live Burial’ to change his luck.

It is believed to cost S$30,000 to conduct a standard ritual.

So today, let’s have a look at this mysterious ritual which accordingly requires feng shui knowledge as well as the need to conduct a spiritual ritual and which had intrigue a lot of people. It also has other supposed powers such as to bring abundant wealth as well as protecting the Life of the person.

The meaning of Living Tomb simply means a tomb for a living person and would also refer to longevity abode. This practise originates during the founding of the Han Dynasty by Emperor Liu Bang where a Taoist Zhang Liang, an advisor, search for a heavenly paradise to practise immortality came upon a plot of land in Xuzhou, now known as Jiangsu Tongshan and built a longevity abode with superior Dragon Qi or in modern context, good feng shui. Henceforth, this was then passed down in history and later evolved into a feng shui ritual.

To be frank, I am just surprised as I can’t find any well-known Emperor using this feng shui ritual except for Burial for the Dead or Ying Zhai Feng Shui in the Feudal China History. A Taoist master, Lao Miao Zhu of Penang, a friend of mine had said that it is actually used in Mao Shan ritual to hide the soul to avoid calamity for a period of time and how it then evolved into being a feng shui ritual, he also have no inklings about it too. In my opinion, this is more of a spiritual practise than feng shui and secondly, all along, the Chinese have always uses Taoist for funeral ceremony and other religion related activities. It is a known fact that most Taoist priests should have some basic knowledge of feng shui.

Surprisingly, the original Blindman school of thought have an almost similar ritual when meeting bad luck cycle where a Taoist talisman would be required and a ritual conducted at least two years before the bad luck commences. They called it the or 'Hiding the Body Ritual' which is to be conducted on an auspicious date. Based on their school of thought which I am familiar with, Nicholas Tse is supposed to have faced a calamity in this luck pillar of Ding Hai and apparently it is working from the above Taoist ritual as he is going into his next luck pillar Wu Zi which though is no better but should not be that disastrous,' 命' or 'Meeting Death but keeping the Life.'

However so far, there is only bad publicity on this feng shui ritual; one was a public outcry  in neighbouring Malaysia where a Taiwanese master had went to Penang last year and conduct feng shui class. At the same time, he bought a piece of burial land, enthusiastically promoting it as the Dragon Lair (Rare superior feng shui land) and encouraged his students to buy it for live burial for prosperity. An original plain plot of burial land that was bought for $40,000 was then sub-divided and sold for $120,000 a piece to the fortune seekers. Apparently he was the who got the fortune as he panicked and absconded with the money successfully after other feng shui masters in Malaysia investigated the landforms of that land and revealed that it is just a normal piece of land and could be a possible fraud on unwitting students who had enrolled in that master feng shui classes too.

The other publicity that this ritual got was however during the court case on Nina Wang’s will where this ritual was bought up in an affidavit and it was mentioned that the deceased billionaire had paid Mao Shan practitioner Tony Chan S$200 Million to conduct this ritual as she was suffering from Terminal cancer and which had then renewed interest in this ritual for fortune seekers. It apparently doesn’t work for Billionaires too while some claims that Tony Chan was a fake.

Life Tombstone of Nicholas Tse

Okay, I would just go about into the so called important principles that accordingly are used to conduct this ritual for Nicholas Tse.

First find a plot of land termed the Dragon Lair with superior Qi based on Ying Zhai Feng shui landforms theory. Then collect together the living person belongings such as favourite clothing, teeth, nails and hair, etc., together with the seven precious stones and five types of colour beans together, symbolizing the Bumper Harvest for the ritual. For some masters, 10 cc of the person blood would be needed.

Second, this will involves Metaphysics knowledge; use a Luo Pan Chinese Compass to check and choose a suitable plot that matches the living person Bazi chart. An average plot with good feng shui configuration will do if a superior plot cannot be obtained in land scarce country; we have to be flexible right?

Third, this will involves some spiritual imagination as it is assumed that there is a negative energy attached to that living person which is causing bad luck and we are burying that bad energy here, and as long as it is comfortable and the place is peaceful and it do not hate the place, it will not go back and haunt that person and creates problems or bad luck anymore. Therefore, a spiritual ritual would needs to be conducted.

The ritual would then start by picking an auspicious day to bury an urn or a small coffin with the person’s belongings as in a normal funeral burial. Then, a ritual of forty nine days involving spiritual invocations would then be needed to be conducted too by the spiritual master. And that will be all to start life afresh with that vexing spirit or negative energy being buried though it is supposed to hide the soul from disaster in the original Taoist version. Okay, I will leave it to you readers to decide on its effectiveness.

Next, the Bazi chart of Nicholas Tse, 謝霆鋒 aka Tse Ting-Fung. Now, lets look further into Nicholas Tse’ s Bazi Chart to see if we can find where his problems started from which luck pillar and whether it tally with this special chart on its likes and dislikes of elements.

His chart interestingly belongs to Special category and is called a Fake Follow Power Chart. It would also be interesting to see whether his live burial has helped him when the years were unfavourable as the ritual was supposed to have been done in 2002.

As can be seen in the chart below, Nicholas Tse is a Jia Wood Daymaster born in Autumn where Wood is controlled by Metal. The only support he has is a Bi Jian Friend aspect element next to him, another Jia  which is however sitting on Shen Metal but is clash by the Geng Metal in the year pillar and cannot render Support. As such, with no other major support like resources aspect Water and parallel aspect Wood, he has to succumb and follow the strongest element which is Metal. As the two earths Chen  and Xu (Spouse Palace) is in clashing though Heavenly stem protrudes Wu.

Metal will be the strongest element in the chart. So we can call this chart a Follow Metal (Power aspect) Chart 从杀格.

However, though Power aspect Metal element is supposed to be favourable for this category but because there is no Unconventional Intelligence or Indirect output star 食神 Yang Fire in his chart and therefore there is no control on Qi Sha Indirect Power Star Metal 食杀, it has resulted in a tendency for rebellious streak behaviour with disregard for proper authority in ten elemental relationships in its absence.

Nicholas’s Parents in celebrations for the Grandson

Output Star Fire is still favourable though as Wealth (Earth) aspect protrudes in the Heavenly stems to protect the Power Star (Metal). As the Power aspect prominent in Year and month pillar as well as being favourable represents strong family status and fame which reflects in his family background, his father is popular HK actor, director and producer, Patrick Tse Yin. Mother Deborah Lee, 1973 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant winner and famous HK actress. Recently, I read with amusement again at the newspaper headlines wrong impression that Patrick Tze was chiding the son for being weak which actually is good as he is trying to provoke his son to regaining his fighting spirit as the latter was probably depressed by his divorce and children custody problems. Guess as what they alway says, the father will knows best.

From Wikipedia, Tse and Lee divorced in 1996 and in 2008; Patrick Tse started dating a girl named Coco who is almost 50 years younger than he is, if you can read the bazi chart well, it is all in there. A clue, the father is next to him in the Hour pillar.

His luck pillars:

Bing Xu pillar (Chinese age 13-23) Indirect Output Star  and Wealth 食

As mentioned, here was a good luck pillar as he meets Indirect Output Star to control his Strong Power Star where he propelled into Stardom.

In 1997 Ding Chou, Nicholas Tse aged 18 in sign a record deal with EEG under the Fitto label, releasing his first album, "My Attitude". The album was ranked 3rd on the top selling CD chart of IFPI. It was that year where he won the most popular new artist award.

Tse received mainstream success in 1998 Wu Yin with songs like "早知" and "如果只得一星期" and became a prominent successor in the entertainment industry. He received a musical award during the 1999 Ji Mao, Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Awards with his popular song "非走不可" recorded on September 27, 1993 (Gui You).

Ding Hai luck pillar (Chinese age 23-33) Direct Output and Direct Resource Star

Here is where the Blindman School of thoughts would put this as the worst luck pillar to be in for Nicholas Tse.

His problems starts to begin in 2002 Ren Wu Chinese age 23 when he enter into luck pillar Ding Hai pillar, first being involved in a car accident driving a ferrari where a false police report was lodged and he was jailed for 2 weeks. It was then followed by another incident of an assault on a reporter where it was settled out of court. He also had another car accident in 2003 Gui Wei and had his license suspended for 2 years. In 2005 Yi You, he had another accident and was again suspended from driving for another six month. Apparently, he is out for death thrills through speed in racing.

Things started to change, in July 2006 Bing Xu where he meets the favorable Indirect output star 食again, he officially admitted he was dating Cecilia Cheung and in September that year, they got married secretly. First son, Lucas was born in 2007 Ding Hai  followed by second son, Quintus in May 2010 Geng Yin last year.

But 2011 Xin Mao this year, rumours surfaced that he has marriage problems as it was supposed to be activated next year Ren Chen where the Chen will activate the clash with Xu in his spouse palace. Nicholas Tse reportedly filed for divorce on the 14th of June 2011, Geng Zi day in Jia Wu month. Obviously there is a difference for 2011 Xin Mao compare to in 1999 Ji Mao where he had became more popular with a music award instead. A source revealed Tse reached his decision after realising unconditional sacrifice would not lead to ultimate happiness and divorce was the only right decision. This comes after pictures of Cheung and Edison Chen on a plane together surfaced in the Taiwanese media. Cheung and Chen had earlier been embroiled in a sex photo scandal. Tse was also reported to have had enough of Cheung’s constant demands and “threats” in their marriage, including taking her own life and son Lucas if he did not give in to her demands. Next year Ren Chen, Nicholas Tse should be entering  into Wu Zi luck pillar which though does not sounds so good, but anyway, let's still wish him the best.

Till-then, cheers.

Followers Chart 從格?

   '奇奇奇,地利与天时。灯花传信后,动静总相宜'

My apologies to my dear friends who have dropped by while I have been getting disillusioned and inactive with the World.

However, I may have found something new to get out of boredom after having a talk with my Mentor to get me out of this rut that I am stuck in.

This is a special category chart that I am thinking of putting up as a discussion for a possible coming SFSC event at food and drinks ticket pricing for any interested Bazi Enthusiasts which my Mentor Vincent Koh have suggested. His history is available at Wikipedia for those interested in analysing this very interesting chart which is also somewhat rather like the DSK chart and highly debatable about its structure with its so called Likes and Dislikes.

I have decided to discuss about this chart as further more Astrotheme, a popular Western Astrology website had also done a write up about him and also requesting for help to get his birthtime,

'If you happen to know the time of birth of Sergueï Bubka, we would appreciate it very much if you would send us your information including your source, if any. We thank you in advance for contributing to the enhancement of our astrological database. As a token of our gratefulness, we shall be glad to send you for free the comprehensive astrological portrait (38-40 pages) of this celebrity, if you let us know that you are interested in it.'

Chart courtesy of Singapore Feng Shui Centre software and the free link is at the right hand corner of my blog for friends who would like to plot bazi chart.

Disclaimer: The Hour pillar is above is for show only as I also don't have it but if you pay me enough, I might consider getting a PI to check if you are really that interested.  :   )

However for the moment you decided yourself whether it is a Follow Whatever Chart or Not Follow by doing research on his background as you are doing it for yourself to learn and not paid by Sergei, Ok?

A bit of his History:

From his biography at Bookrags.com

'When Bubka was 15, his parents divorced Luck pillar Ren Xu 1977 Ding Si . (My opinion: Si clash the Hai and Ding does not seem to be favorable. Luck Pillar Ren is also locked by Ding and Xu attempt for fire combination with the Mao in his year pillar. All these are in the Ancestor(year) and Parent(month) Pillar.)  Life was hard for the two brothers, who lived in a factory dormitory. Twice Bubka broke his foot, and doctors advised him to give up the sport. He refused and kept vaulting.

Serhiy Bubka entered international athletics in 1981 Xin You in Luck Pillar Xin You  participating in the European Junior Championships where he reached 7th place. But the 1983 Gui Hai World Championships held in Helsinki proved to be his actual entry point to the mainstream world athletics, where a relatively unknown Bubka snatched the gold, clearing 5.70 metres (18 feet 8 inches). The years that followed witnessed the unparalleled dominance of Bubka, with him setting new records and standards in pole vaulting.'

End.

The rest you can dig out from Wikipedia.

I assure you that you will have fun in trying to figure out about this special chart structure. Have fun with it if you really got nowhere to go and nothing to do for the weekend.

Till-then, cheers.

Space/Time (玄空-Xuan Kong)

From my Spacebook friend, Aloke:

'Earth is the still beating heart of space. Space is alive. Space is the boundless, three-dimensional extent in which objects and events occur and have relative position and direction. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of the boundless four-dimensional continuum known as space time. There is still so little known about outer space by modern science, but of that little we do know there are some extraordinarily amazing things.

We are moving through space at the rate of 329 miles a second. Our Galaxy – the Milky Way is spinning at a rate of 140 miles per second. In addition, the galaxy is traveling through space at the rate of 190 miles per second. This means that we are traveling at a total speed of 330 miles per second. That means that in one minute you are about 11,806 miles away from where you were. The moon is drifting away from Earth. Every year the moon moves about 1.5 inches further away from the Earth. This is caused by tidal effects.

Consequently, the earth is slowing in rotation by about 0.002 seconds per day per century. Scientists do not know how the moon was created, but the generally accepted theory suggests that a large Mars sized object hit the earth causing the Moon to splinter off. The light hitting the earth right now is 30 thousand years old. The energy in the sunlight we see today started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago – it spent most of this time passing through the dense atoms that make the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun! The temperature at the core of the sun is 13,600,000 kelvins (unit of measurement for temperature). All of the energy produced by fusion in the core must travel through many successive layers to the solar photosphere before it escapes into space as sunlight or kinetic energy of particles.

If two pieces of metal touch in space, they become permanently stuck together. This may sound unbelievable, but it is true. Two pieces of metal without any coating on them will form in to one piece in the vacuum of space. This doesn’t happen on earth because the atmosphere puts a layer of oxidized material between the surfaces. This might seem like it would be a big problem on the space station but as most tools used there have come from earth, they are already coated with material. In fact, the only evidence of this seen so far has been in experiments designed to provoke the reaction. This process is called cold welding. Space Facts: - The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust. - Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise. - Sound doesn't travel in space.

The volume of the Earth's moon is the same as the volume of the Pacific Ocean. - The temperature of the earth's interior increases by 1 degree every 60 feet down. - The sun is 330,330 times larger than the earth! - The Earth weighs around 5,940 billion metric tons. - The earth travels through space at 660,000 miles per hour. - The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust. - More than 20 million meteoroids enter Earth's atmosphere every day.'

Grasshopper: 'Master, I don't understand by what that Korean Feng Shui master Cho is saying by the Eight Mansion Theory is a conspiracy by the Late Tang Dynasty Emperor to weaken his country?'

Master: 'Were you around at that time or did you witness it, boy?'

Grasshopper: 'Of course not but master, while having tea with the other school's disciples who are laughing and joking about it yesterday, it sounds quite true from the contradictions it have with Time as it emphasis mainly on Space.'

Master: 'What if Time is the other missing part for some reasons or others from the original text and you will to add it in?'

Grasshopper: 'But then, Master, it still does not sound right as the so called eight wandering stars are classified as auspicious and inauspicious meaning some stars are still bad though the time might be right for the bad stars in the correct place. And then you only have 2 category of Life  Essence-East or West, it is so funny and do not make sense as it means if you are East, you can only live in a East type of house and so forth.'

Master: 'Would it not be same for our 滴天髓 Di Tian Sui which categorises people generally into 10 types of characters?'

Grasshopper: 'Not really master, as in Di Tian Sui, we still have to look into the seasons of birth and many other things...'

Master: 'Precisely, as what you have seen and heard about Eight Mansion Theory would be the same with the missing parts. All-right, I will explain to you what really happens from what I know from our late grandmaster another time, its time for dinner...'

Grasshopper thinking to himself: 'Arrrgh, no wonder Master always says 'Eat 3/4 full only as it is good to still feel hungry after a nice meal and being energetic instead of being sleepy...'

To be continued....

Dear friends, my apologies as I have been busy lately and too tired to do any posting, thanks for being around if you happen to be here.

Till-then, cheers.

The Big Sea

The Size of Zheng He ship compared to Christopher Columbus

Well, if one day the world can unite and start space explorations, would’nt that be nice? It would stop over profiteering lately of claims of food shortages due to overpopulation of Man. Anyway, to continue from where I last stop…..

It is another one of those fresh spring mornings where you wake up and feel good, ready to take on the world which is what Grasshopper felt while having breakfast with his Master. They were on the second floor of the teahouse overlooking the big open Town square where hawkers were shouting out their wares and customers alike were bargaining loud over the colourful and assorted wares. Grasshopper has never seen this colourful scene even in the town where he occasionally visits on errands in the North which the folks were already tilling hard in the fields when the sun just starts to slumber out. There were smells of different exotic foods cooking in the air too, making one feel stimulated by the aroma together with the colourful sight. As such, Grasshopper felt he has the courage to ask his master of a perplexing matter.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, lately I am confused by the different opinions of the various masters who had met up with you.’

Master: ‘What about?’

Grasshopper: ‘The approaches they use for destiny and feng shui are all different from what you taught me and you seem to have agreed with them.’

Master: ‘You mean what I have taught you contradict with my actions….’

Grasshopper: ‘No, no, I dare not think of that.’

Master: ‘Okay, I know that you are confused by the different schools of thought on our arts.’

Grasshopper: ‘Yes master, especially the guy who uses just the hexagrams and had confused me with his jargons and had made me sleepless trying to figure out on what he was telling you.’

Master: ‘Mmm, have you not heard of the six blind men who came onto an elephant and each had felt the different part of the elephant and proclaiming each other correct in trying to describe the elephant as a snake, a pillar, a wall and so forth.’

Grasshopper: ‘Yes master but I don’t see what it has to do with this matter.’

Master: ‘Boy, boy, it is the same as with the different theories that you have come across here. Every one of us including myself at the moment only has a limited vision though not blind of which is somewhat of the elephant, the mysterious Xuan Kong.’

Grasshopper: ‘But master, in this case, knowing just a part of the elephant likewise will not suffice…’

Master: ‘As you can see, to one who can see the elephant, the blind men are each correct in their interpretations such as us. Therefore, do as what I have done, agreed with every one of them and learn something from them instead of arguing whose school is more superior.’

Grasshopper thinking to himself: ‘Ah, Master is wise, no wonder he always insists on meeting each of them individually instead. While they were busy denouncing the other schools of thoughts, they always give theirs away in trying to explain to Master and hoping to gain his support as Master is believed to have some relationship with the Imperial court who is compiling a great book of all the Arts.’ (From wikipedia: Yongle Emperor commissioned his Grand Secretary, Xie Jin, to write a compilation of every subject and every known book of the Chinese. The massive project's goal was to preserve Chinese culture and literature in writing. The initial copy took 17 months to transcribe and another copy was transcribed in 1557. The book, named the Yongle Encyclopedia, is still considered one of the most marvelous human achievements in history, despite it being gradually lost by time.)

Master: ‘Boy, I am not as mean as what you have made of my actions.’

Grasshopper thinking: ‘Oops! I forgot Master is not called the Divination God 神算among the masters for nothing.’

Grasshopper: ‘No Master, I was thinking that then I must learn to be more appropriate in my actions as what the Yi Jing have always stressed as humility leads to superiority.’

Master: ‘It is best that it be the way, boy. Anyway, the people have the wrong concept of the word 神算 which means it is divined by the mysterious and not that I am God.…’

Grasshopper by now even more astonished that his thoughts was well read by his master.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, I am curious about Master Li’s house as his housekeeper has told you he is busy lately for you to revisit him because of an Admiral Zheng He who is coming back from the Big Sea this coming summer. The customers here have been talking excitedly about the strange people and animals he have brought back each trips.I have never seen the Big Sea before; is it what the Di Tian Sui 地天髓 (Esssence of Heaven and Earth)meant of the heavenly stem of Ren: ‘Big sea water’?’

Master: ‘It is also another Elephant however this time to our great Emperor Zhu Di (Yongle) and the Admiral himself who really puts their efforts into feeling the whole elephant instead of the parts. That reminds me that I have to inform the Admiral household that I am staying in this Inn. Boy reminds me when we have finished our breakfast to task the Innkeeper with this errand.’

New Zealand tests back Chinese ancient map claims

A New Zealand university's research has suggested a 243-year-old map indicating a famous Chinese explorer discovered New Zealand, Australia and America before Europeans is probably not a fake.

Waikato Times reported Saturday that Waikato University carbon- dating shows that "there might be something in a theory that the Chinese discovered New Zealand before Europeans."

Before Christmas, the university's carbon-dating unit was asked to analyze a Chinese map allegedly dating back to 1763 and stating that it was a copy of a 1418 map.

If authentic, the 1418 map by Chinese explorer Zheng He, which includes portrayals of America and Australia, was drawn 70 years before Christopher Columbus became the first European to land in America.’

Western histories record that Columbus found the New World in 1492, Portugal's Bartholomeu Diaz discovered the Cape of Good Hope in 1488, and Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan set off to circumnavigate the world in 1519.

While some people said Zheng He seemed to have discovered America 70 years before Columbus in 1492 if the controversial map drawn in 1763 by a Chinese cartographer is real.

The map could have an important influence on a re-evaluation of Chinese and Western maritime exploration.

The map was originally unveiled in Beijing on Jan. 16, attracting interest from across the globe. The owner, Liu Gang, a Chinese lawyer and map collector, said at the time that it was an authentic 1763 copy of a 1418 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) original.

The original map has not been found, but if real, the 1763 copy could be proof that it existed. If so, it would give credence to the theory that Chinese sailors traversed the globe long before their European counterparts.

Deputy Director Fiona Petchey of Waikato University carbon- dating unit, who was entrusted to make tests of the map, said tests showed there was an 80 percent probability that the map's paper dated to either 1640-1690 or 1730-1810.

There was only a 13 percent chance it could date between 1920- 1960.

Liu Gang unveiled the results this week at a press conference in Beijing, according to news report.

He held that appearance of the map, the color of its ink, the age of its paper, the way in which it was painted and the style of calligraphy used by the cartographer verify that the year in which the map was created was the year of 1763 as noted by the cartographer on the map.

"The carbon dating result of Waikato University confirms that the map's paper was most probably produced during the period from 1730-1810 or 1640-1690, which is the right range for the year in which the map was created," said Liu.

Food for thoughts:

So by then, did the early Chinese geomancers know that there is a Southern Hemisphere with a different climate and that the world could be round? When did XKDG with its square and round arrangement came out?

Till-then, cheers.
