Space/Time (玄空-Xuan Kong)

From my Spacebook friend, Aloke:

'Earth is the still beating heart of space. Space is alive. Space is the boundless, three-dimensional extent in which objects and events occur and have relative position and direction. Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of the boundless four-dimensional continuum known as space time. There is still so little known about outer space by modern science, but of that little we do know there are some extraordinarily amazing things.

We are moving through space at the rate of 329 miles a second. Our Galaxy – the Milky Way is spinning at a rate of 140 miles per second. In addition, the galaxy is traveling through space at the rate of 190 miles per second. This means that we are traveling at a total speed of 330 miles per second. That means that in one minute you are about 11,806 miles away from where you were. The moon is drifting away from Earth. Every year the moon moves about 1.5 inches further away from the Earth. This is caused by tidal effects.

Consequently, the earth is slowing in rotation by about 0.002 seconds per day per century. Scientists do not know how the moon was created, but the generally accepted theory suggests that a large Mars sized object hit the earth causing the Moon to splinter off. The light hitting the earth right now is 30 thousand years old. The energy in the sunlight we see today started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago – it spent most of this time passing through the dense atoms that make the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun! The temperature at the core of the sun is 13,600,000 kelvins (unit of measurement for temperature). All of the energy produced by fusion in the core must travel through many successive layers to the solar photosphere before it escapes into space as sunlight or kinetic energy of particles.

If two pieces of metal touch in space, they become permanently stuck together. This may sound unbelievable, but it is true. Two pieces of metal without any coating on them will form in to one piece in the vacuum of space. This doesn’t happen on earth because the atmosphere puts a layer of oxidized material between the surfaces. This might seem like it would be a big problem on the space station but as most tools used there have come from earth, they are already coated with material. In fact, the only evidence of this seen so far has been in experiments designed to provoke the reaction. This process is called cold welding. Space Facts: - The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust. - Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise. - Sound doesn't travel in space.

The volume of the Earth's moon is the same as the volume of the Pacific Ocean. - The temperature of the earth's interior increases by 1 degree every 60 feet down. - The sun is 330,330 times larger than the earth! - The Earth weighs around 5,940 billion metric tons. - The earth travels through space at 660,000 miles per hour. - The Earth gets 100 tons heavier every day due to falling space dust. - More than 20 million meteoroids enter Earth's atmosphere every day.'

Grasshopper: 'Master, I don't understand by what that Korean Feng Shui master Cho is saying by the Eight Mansion Theory is a conspiracy by the Late Tang Dynasty Emperor to weaken his country?'

Master: 'Were you around at that time or did you witness it, boy?'

Grasshopper: 'Of course not but master, while having tea with the other school's disciples who are laughing and joking about it yesterday, it sounds quite true from the contradictions it have with Time as it emphasis mainly on Space.'

Master: 'What if Time is the other missing part for some reasons or others from the original text and you will to add it in?'

Grasshopper: 'But then, Master, it still does not sound right as the so called eight wandering stars are classified as auspicious and inauspicious meaning some stars are still bad though the time might be right for the bad stars in the correct place. And then you only have 2 category of Life  Essence-East or West, it is so funny and do not make sense as it means if you are East, you can only live in a East type of house and so forth.'

Master: 'Would it not be same for our 滴天髓 Di Tian Sui which categorises people generally into 10 types of characters?'

Grasshopper: 'Not really master, as in Di Tian Sui, we still have to look into the seasons of birth and many other things...'

Master: 'Precisely, as what you have seen and heard about Eight Mansion Theory would be the same with the missing parts. All-right, I will explain to you what really happens from what I know from our late grandmaster another time, its time for dinner...'

Grasshopper thinking to himself: 'Arrrgh, no wonder Master always says 'Eat 3/4 full only as it is good to still feel hungry after a nice meal and being energetic instead of being sleepy...'

To be continued....

Dear friends, my apologies as I have been busy lately and too tired to do any posting, thanks for being around if you happen to be here.

Till-then, cheers.

The Big Sea

The Size of Zheng He ship compared to Christopher Columbus

Well, if one day the world can unite and start space explorations, would’nt that be nice? It would stop over profiteering lately of claims of food shortages due to overpopulation of Man. Anyway, to continue from where I last stop…..

It is another one of those fresh spring mornings where you wake up and feel good, ready to take on the world which is what Grasshopper felt while having breakfast with his Master. They were on the second floor of the teahouse overlooking the big open Town square where hawkers were shouting out their wares and customers alike were bargaining loud over the colourful and assorted wares. Grasshopper has never seen this colourful scene even in the town where he occasionally visits on errands in the North which the folks were already tilling hard in the fields when the sun just starts to slumber out. There were smells of different exotic foods cooking in the air too, making one feel stimulated by the aroma together with the colourful sight. As such, Grasshopper felt he has the courage to ask his master of a perplexing matter.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, lately I am confused by the different opinions of the various masters who had met up with you.’

Master: ‘What about?’

Grasshopper: ‘The approaches they use for destiny and feng shui are all different from what you taught me and you seem to have agreed with them.’

Master: ‘You mean what I have taught you contradict with my actions….’

Grasshopper: ‘No, no, I dare not think of that.’

Master: ‘Okay, I know that you are confused by the different schools of thought on our arts.’

Grasshopper: ‘Yes master, especially the guy who uses just the hexagrams and had confused me with his jargons and had made me sleepless trying to figure out on what he was telling you.’

Master: ‘Mmm, have you not heard of the six blind men who came onto an elephant and each had felt the different part of the elephant and proclaiming each other correct in trying to describe the elephant as a snake, a pillar, a wall and so forth.’

Grasshopper: ‘Yes master but I don’t see what it has to do with this matter.’

Master: ‘Boy, boy, it is the same as with the different theories that you have come across here. Every one of us including myself at the moment only has a limited vision though not blind of which is somewhat of the elephant, the mysterious Xuan Kong.’

Grasshopper: ‘But master, in this case, knowing just a part of the elephant likewise will not suffice…’

Master: ‘As you can see, to one who can see the elephant, the blind men are each correct in their interpretations such as us. Therefore, do as what I have done, agreed with every one of them and learn something from them instead of arguing whose school is more superior.’

Grasshopper thinking to himself: ‘Ah, Master is wise, no wonder he always insists on meeting each of them individually instead. While they were busy denouncing the other schools of thoughts, they always give theirs away in trying to explain to Master and hoping to gain his support as Master is believed to have some relationship with the Imperial court who is compiling a great book of all the Arts.’ (From wikipedia: Yongle Emperor commissioned his Grand Secretary, Xie Jin, to write a compilation of every subject and every known book of the Chinese. The massive project's goal was to preserve Chinese culture and literature in writing. The initial copy took 17 months to transcribe and another copy was transcribed in 1557. The book, named the Yongle Encyclopedia, is still considered one of the most marvelous human achievements in history, despite it being gradually lost by time.)

Master: ‘Boy, I am not as mean as what you have made of my actions.’

Grasshopper thinking: ‘Oops! I forgot Master is not called the Divination God 神算among the masters for nothing.’

Grasshopper: ‘No Master, I was thinking that then I must learn to be more appropriate in my actions as what the Yi Jing have always stressed as humility leads to superiority.’

Master: ‘It is best that it be the way, boy. Anyway, the people have the wrong concept of the word 神算 which means it is divined by the mysterious and not that I am God.…’

Grasshopper by now even more astonished that his thoughts was well read by his master.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, I am curious about Master Li’s house as his housekeeper has told you he is busy lately for you to revisit him because of an Admiral Zheng He who is coming back from the Big Sea this coming summer. The customers here have been talking excitedly about the strange people and animals he have brought back each trips.I have never seen the Big Sea before; is it what the Di Tian Sui 地天髓 (Esssence of Heaven and Earth)meant of the heavenly stem of Ren: ‘Big sea water’?’

Master: ‘It is also another Elephant however this time to our great Emperor Zhu Di (Yongle) and the Admiral himself who really puts their efforts into feeling the whole elephant instead of the parts. That reminds me that I have to inform the Admiral household that I am staying in this Inn. Boy reminds me when we have finished our breakfast to task the Innkeeper with this errand.’

An exchange on a forum where a member had substantiated claims of:

‘Also Mindreader it appears that Menzies has been proved correct the results of
the radio-carbon tests show that :

New Zealand tests back Chinese ancient map claims

A New Zealand university's research has suggested a 243-year-old map indicating a famous Chinese explorer discovered New Zealand, Australia and America before Europeans is probably not a fake.

Waikato Times reported Saturday that Waikato University carbon- dating shows that "there might be something in a theory that the Chinese discovered New Zealand before Europeans."

Before Christmas, the university's carbon-dating unit was asked to analyze a Chinese map allegedly dating back to 1763 and stating that it was a copy of a 1418 map.

If authentic, the 1418 map by Chinese explorer Zheng He, which includes portrayals of America and Australia, was drawn 70 years before Christopher Columbus became the first European to land in America.’

Western histories record that Columbus found the New World in 1492, Portugal's Bartholomeu Diaz discovered the Cape of Good Hope in 1488, and Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan set off to circumnavigate the world in 1519.

While some people said Zheng He seemed to have discovered America 70 years before Columbus in 1492 if the controversial map drawn in 1763 by a Chinese cartographer is real.

The map could have an important influence on a re-evaluation of Chinese and Western maritime exploration.

The map was originally unveiled in Beijing on Jan. 16, attracting interest from across the globe. The owner, Liu Gang, a Chinese lawyer and map collector, said at the time that it was an authentic 1763 copy of a 1418 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) original.

The original map has not been found, but if real, the 1763 copy could be proof that it existed. If so, it would give credence to the theory that Chinese sailors traversed the globe long before their European counterparts.

Deputy Director Fiona Petchey of Waikato University carbon- dating unit, who was entrusted to make tests of the map, said tests showed there was an 80 percent probability that the map's paper dated to either 1640-1690 or 1730-1810.

There was only a 13 percent chance it could date between 1920- 1960.

Liu Gang unveiled the results this week at a press conference in Beijing, according to news report.

He held that appearance of the map, the color of its ink, the age of its paper, the way in which it was painted and the style of calligraphy used by the cartographer verify that the year in which the map was created was the year of 1763 as noted by the cartographer on the map.

"The carbon dating result of Waikato University confirms that the map's paper was most probably produced during the period from 1730-1810 or 1640-1690, which is the right range for the year in which the map was created," said Liu.

Food for thoughts:

So by then, did the early Chinese geomancers know that there is a Southern Hemisphere with a different climate and that the world could be round? When did XKDG with its square and round arrangement came out?

The Journey of Grasshopper

Well, well in Singapore, we are having Elections again. Hurray, not for the election but for the seven hundred dollars our government is giving out : )

Anyway, this reminds me of the infamous Su Zhou Investment of the Past which have left a bitter taste for both Government and the locals here.

‘Jiangnan or Jiang Nan 江南 is a geographic area in China referring to lands immediately to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including the southern part of the Yangtze Delta. Several Chinese Dynasties were based in Jiangnan. During the Three Kingdoms period, Jianye (modern-day Nanjing) was the capital of the Kingdom of Wu.

Suzhou and Hangzhou have the most beautiful, charming and elegant lakes and gardens in the area and that led to an old Chinese saying "True paradise is in heaven, Suzhou and Hangzhou are heaven on earth." Even Marco Polo praised Hangzhou as "a heavenly city".’

One breezy morning in spring in the year of 1417 Ding You, the rule of Yongle Emperor of Ming Dynasty, Grasshopper and his master visit a rich merchant’s house to do fengshui while touring in Jiangnan.

Grasshopper thinking to himself: ‘Ah, master did not take his Luo Geng (luo-pan/Chinese compass), he must have drank a lot last night and forgot. Well, it’s a good opportunity for me to show master of my inborn talent.’

As they reached the house, the owner, Master Li and his wife was waiting at the door.

Master Li: ‘Welcome Master Dragonfly to Su Zhou and I am thankful to my cousin, Jasmine for troubling you to take a look at my humble abode.’

Master Dragonfly looking around the frontage of the house reply: ‘Oh not at all, not at all….’

Meanwhile after taking out his Lou Geng, Grasshopper with what he thinks an important air was looking at the surroundings of the Mansion and taking measurement of what he thinks is the orientation.

Master Li: ‘The urgency I have seek your help is that things are not that smooth lately for my household and….’

Master Dragonfly interrupting him: ‘Not to worry, let me go into the house first and see what mischief has the little dragons been up to.’

Master Li telling his head servant: ‘Ask them to prepare some nice foods and bring out the Lushan Yunwu (Cloud Fog) tea for Master and his disciple.’

Master Dragonfly looking pleased: ‘Oh that is a very expensive tea that I have long heard about and do not have the fortune to taste it till now.’

Grasshopper who have been standing by and waiting to inform his master of what he thinks is the frontage of the house as he thinks his master must have by now realised that he did not bring his luo geng and wanting to gain credit.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, I have used my luo geng and taken…’

The Master angrily stopped him: ‘Boy that is very rude of you to speak before you are asked to. Do not do it again while I am chatting with Master Li until I tell you!’

Grasshopper puzzled why his master not anxious to know the facing of the house: ‘Yes, yes master, pardon me Master Li.”

As they approached the inner courtyard of the house, Master Dragonfly pointed to the room on the other left of the Dining area which is in the centre.

Dragonfly: ‘Who are sleeping in this room?’

Master Li: ‘Oh that would be my elder son and his wife who have been childless till now.’

Dragonfly: ‘Mmm, last year was a bad year for him and he must have faced some problems with the local gentry.’

Master Li: ‘You are amazing, Master. Indeed the local magistrate has gone after him for filing in false tax returns on his land yields last year.’

Dragonfly: ‘What about the room to the right?’

Master Li: ‘That is the bedroom of my second son and his wife.’

Dragonfly: ‘Well, this is important as you have to pay more attention to his unhealthy nightly life and ask your wife to spend some time with your daughter-in law…’

Master: ‘Oh Master, you are really divine, he have been drinking and whoring and sometimes do not come home at all since Chinese New Year. It have infuriated his father-in law, an influential man here and probably he is the one who instigated the magistrate to pursue the case of my eldest son this year despite after settling the shortfalls and giving expensive gifts last year. I do not know what else will be happening next if this is allowed to carry on.’

By now, Grasshopper was looking with astonishment at his master as he listened to the conversation.

Dragonfly: ‘Okay, let’s take a break first and chatted over tea before I go further as I am old and probably still tired from the long journey from the North so do pardon me.’

Master Li: ‘Sure, I am feeling hungry and thirsty too as I have been up since Dawn.’

Master Li thinking to himself: ‘Mmm, this is no good if he is tired and missed out anything important later. I must ask him to come another day instead. He should be good as he did not have the bazi charts of my family and knows what is happening.’

When Grasshopper saw the food delicacies and the layout on the dining table, he can’t help and let out a gasp of delight as his stomach rumbled. He had not seen such colourful cakes and biscuits of all shapes and the nice sweet aroma in the early morning hour which stimulates his appetite even more. He was glad that he was allowed by his master to sit together with the family for breakfast. He thought that his master must have been pleased to know that he had bought along his Luo Geng and taken the readings of the frontage of the Mansion.

Master Li:’ By the way, Master Dragonfly, I am going to inform the Innkeeper that all your expenses to be billed to my household so that you can relax and do some sightseeing while doing my house feng shui. After breakfast, perhaps my man could bring you to look around and you can come back again when you have enough rest to recommend the necessary changes on my property.’

Dragonfly: ‘Oh that will be nice as I still do feel tired and my backside is sore from sitting in the carriage during the 18 days journey to Su Zhou here. It is very kind of you but I think I will take a rest at the Inn and therefore there is no need to trouble your people.’

After reaching the Inn, Grasshopper couldn’t wait to ask his master as he couldn’t contain his curiosity.

Grasshopper: ‘Master, I was worried when I noticed that you have not carried your Luo Geng with you on reaching there.’

Master: ‘Aha my boy, be direct with me as you thought that I had drank too much last night.’

Grasshopper: ‘Master, does that means that the Luo Geng is not need actually for doing feng shui.’

Master: ‘Who says?”

Grasshopper: ‘Mmmm…”

Master: ‘Today was just to show you how to impress people as the Luo Geng is still needed. It is obvious that the way that this mansion is constructed, a feng shui master must have been engaged before and the result must have been unsatisfactory which the reason why we are here is.’

Grasshopper: ‘Did you use the Yi Jing to divine last night as the owner did not give you their birthdates master?”

Master: ‘In a way, yes however I had observed that at the Si hour, the sun was on my right and that the house must have been facing south. What is the ruling star for this year my boy?”

Grasshopper glad to have a chance to show that he had updated himself once the year had changeover:’Oh Master, it is the Wu Qu star (Modern context: Star 6).’

Master:’ Good, shows that at least you are worth to be a student of mine. So where is the Lu Cun star (Star 3)?”

Grasshopper: ‘It is at the South West Sector, Master’

Grasshopper suddenly remembers: ‘Ah Master, the eldest son room door is at the SW sector but waits, you had mentioned problem started last year?”

Master: ‘What about last year then?”

Grasshopper: ‘Oh yes, the eldest son room is at the West sector and the Zuo Fu star(Star 9) star was there last year. That is brilliant, master and they must have been very impressed.’

Master: ‘Yes, my boy unfortunately in the real world, ignorant people like to see stuffs that are like magic to be convinced…..”

To be continued when I am bored again, ; )

The Memoirs of Grasshopper

Continued....

Old Chen: ‘Oh no, Master Dragonfly, you told me to watch out for my health 注意身体 but you should elaborate further......’

Master: ‘Oh, what happened?’(Master Dragonfly to himself: I sure hate this last name my master gave me; I had hinted obviously about Hexagram 1 Flying Dragons from the Yi Jing to Master on his deathbed to change it from Housefly)

Old Chen: ‘I had been very careful on my diet and I did some horse riding to exercise for my health but my favourite pony went berserk and threw me off, accidentally breaking my right leg.’

Master: ‘Tsk, tsk. Too bad to hear about it, anyway, Man proposes, Heaven disposes. Heaven’s secret sometime cannot be disclosed too obviously....’ (Yeah, if I tell you too clearly, you won’t be back here today)

Old Chen: ‘My apology for that day when I first came as I was in a hurry to meet Blue Peony at the Tea house to stay on to discuss further and had only bought tokens of humble gifts as my sincerity. (Old Chen to himself: That incident is an bad omen; I better let him know I can afford to pay him more if he gives me better advice)

Master: ‘No, Not at all, not at all, sincerity is what it counts that matters, let me further seek an Yi Jing oracle to see what we can do about it. (Sure, but it is an insult giving me sweet potatoes which I have in my garden and pig meat leftovers from the butcher)

Old Chen: ‘Well, I hope this time that you can give me some clearer advices on what to do about my house feng shui which you said is not in accordance with Heaven’s Will. Money is not a problem.’

Master: ‘Oh Master Chen, for this I will need to have to do some time consuming concentration and adjustments which unfortunately is a problem for I have been thinking of revisiting my hometown as I have not seen my parents for years but the thought of the travelling expenses and gifts is very distracting.’ (Now let’s see how sincere you are)

Old Chen: ‘Don’t worry about that, I can sponsor you with five hundred taels of silver as long as you can make sure my family’s fortune are safe and prosperous.’

Master: ‘Oh that would be so gracious of you though it is still a bit of short of what I need. Well, anyway, let me do what I can best to protect your family fortune,’

After Old Chen have left,

Grasshopper: ‘Master, I do not understand on the changes you ask Old Chen to do.’

Master: ‘What do you mean?’

Grasshopper: ‘This is a Reverse Dragon Formation, why did you have to ask him to build a garden and pond at the back of the House and to shift the dug soil to the back of the house. Won’t this give you more work as you have to pick a date and conduct a ritual for him to have an opening ceremony for activating the Water Dragon energy?”

Master: ‘You means since the natural landforms are there, all I need are to get him to open a Main door at the back and make some simple changes at the back of his house.’

Grasshopper: ‘Yes Master, won’t this saves a lot of works and makes this 500 taels of silver much easier to earn’

Master: ‘Sure Boy, but do you think Old Chen would be happy and impressed if I give him this simple advice without any impressive hula bula with it after paying me 500 taels of silver. Further, those idle fawning scholars would as usual be busybody and would come by to give their learned opinions to Old Chen.’

Grasshopper: ‘Ah Master, I remember Old Chen’s wife had come by to see you before and was very secretive about it’

Master: ‘Yes, my boy, she was very generous and bought a jar of my favourite wine. She was very concerned about her family dwindling fortunes and her future. I guess with all this feng shui stuffs and a broken leg, Old Chen would be too preoccupied the next few months to carry on wasting the family fortunes on whoring and other so called gentleman’s pastimes.

Grasshopper thinking to himself: 'Well, I hope this time Master won't dump me alone here while he goes sightseeing in Jiang Nan'

Master: ‘All-right, I am very pleased about the whole matter as Old Chen's wife have promised another 200 silver taels as a bonus, Grasshopper. I guess this coming trip; I would have to bring you out to see the real world and understand the Human Heart more so that you can progress more.’

Grasshopper: ‘Hurray, I am finally going out to see the World’ (I sure hate this name; don’t know why Master gives me such an awful name instead of something nice like The Aloof Dragon)

Till-then, cheers.

The Dragon Masters

Well, well, we are into the Rabbit year and next, Mr. Dragon will be coming.....

Anyway, since I can't think of anything, let me carry on with The Memoirs of Grasshopper, 'A Fung Sui Matter' started last year.

A conversation between Grasshopper and his Master....

Grasshopper: ' Master, what is the problem with Old Chen' s house?'

Master: 'Boy, tell me what is the formation of the Seven Dipper Stars for the house?'

Grasshopper: 'Oh, that is easy, it is called Mountain Dragon drowned and Water Dragon stranded'

Master: ' No, no, this is between you and me, for the learned scholars, it is called Up Mountain and Down Water上山下水, boy.'

Grasshopper: 'But master, isn't it the same? Why bother with such flowery language?'

Master: 'Of course, for us as Dragon masters, it is different but remember for the common people, you have to confuse them with such encryptic language and they will be more confident of your skills which is why the learned scholars spent so much time on reading books to confuse them'

Grasshopper: ' So Master,  what is going to happen if nothing is done to correct Old Chen's House?'

Master: 'Well, first of all, he is going to have health problem which will result in him not being able to create wealth as the two little dragons have been reversed in position'

Grasshopper ' What about Papa Dragon?'

Master:' He of course is not happy as he is seating with his backside facing out and being made to turn his head every now and then to look back when his backside is being poked by Sha Qi'

Grasshopper: 'So how?'

Master: 'Its' time for my afternoon nap, we will talk about it again when Old Chen comes back again after breaking one of his legs'

Grasshopper: 'But Master, why wait until he comes back after breaking one of his legs?'

Master: ' What are you thinking? Fairies? Are both of us just living on fresh air and eating flowers here in the remote mountains everyday as what the idiotic villagers thinks? Where do you think the money for the the 18 years old Ni Er Hong  女儿红 wine, roasted chickens and porks comes from?'

Who let the Cat out?

Well, a Feng Shui story,

Grasshopper and his Master

Grasshopper: ‘Master, what is this Qi that everybody is talking about?’
Master: ‘What do you actually mean?’
Grasshopper: ‘I mean is it invisible Energy?’
Master: ‘How do you know it is invisible?’
Grasshopper: ‘We can’t see it right?’
Master:’ Can the fishes see the water they are swimming in?’
Grasshopper protest: ‘But we can’t use that to compare!’
Master: ‘Of course, you are not a fish and you won’t know what the fish knows’
Grasshopper: ‘Then?’
Master: ‘Is there any fishes in the Oceans that do not have water in its bodies?’
Thinking he have got it finally,
Grasshopper: ‘Maybe I rephrase it Master, if Qi is the air that we breathe, why does it comes from the ground below us and also in the water and also from the Heavens’
Master: ‘Can the Fish see you?’
Grasshopper: ‘Depends’
Master: ‘Therefore Partly….’
Grasshopper: ‘Why Partly? I don’t understand about the Fish seeing me
Master: ‘Be patient, you will know as time goes by.’

Many, many years later,
Grasshopper and his disciple Fishy

Fishy: ‘Master, what is this Qi that we must learn to use in Feng shui’
Master Grasshopper: ‘What do you actually mean?’
Fishy: ‘I mean is it Visible and Invisible Energy?’
Master: ‘You mean it is Visible and Invisible Energy?’
Fishy: ‘Yes, it should have two forms’
Master: ‘Can you see Energy in Forms’
Fishy: ‘Yes in the clouds that are moved by the winds, in the rains that comes down on us’
Master: ‘Then what is Energy???’
Fishy: ‘Qi is then Energy’
Master: ‘Partly….’
Fishy: ‘Why partly?’
Master: ‘Does the rain that comes down on us fill us with Energy?’
Fishy: 'But Master, it does not but it gives life to everything.'
Master: ‘Be patient, and one fine day, you will know…’

Somewhere in the Near Future,
Master Fishy and his disciple Ignoramus

Master Fishy: 'So Ignoramus, what do you understand about Qi now?'

To be continued…….

Ha-ha, cheers.

Eight Mansions

Ha-ha, its not I m getting spaced out......

Okay, with complaints that I ve not been putting up any metaphysics article lately, here is one with a story.

Educating the common people on fengshui.

In the past in feudal China, fengshui was meant for the rich and not the common people unless they happened to have the affinity to meet a master. Most of the time, metaphysics are divided into 2 groups, the fortune teller and the walk the dragon groups, ha-ha…..

About the placing of the stove in Ba Zhai Fengshui (Eight Mansions)

It is common sense that the stove was deemed important in the fengshui of a house in olden days. This is the area where a person well-being depends on. One of the Earlier Bazhai Theory by a school bought up by fscrazee or Master Hung HC which he disagreed on was the stove to be placed in an inauspicious gua of the house and which I agreed with him. It is akin to putting the stove in a waste disposal area to do your cooking.

Our present style of high-rise living would have put us on par with the fairies to these ancient scholars. The ideal of having a kitchen up in the sky would not be something they can comprehend. In the past, fengshui is applied to landed property and even if they have structure of 2, 3 storeys, the kitchen would still be allocated on the ground floor. Imagine the inconveniences if otherwise with the technology at that time. As the stove is so called landed, placing it in a more auspicious area of the house gua makes more sense on tapping the beneficial underground qi.

However with our moden living, it is not unusual for these ancient masters to envisage their theory to being applied for twentieth century when they formulate it. The mouth or the area of the stove where air goes in to expediate burning of the wood or whatever is logical in having it face a auspicious direction. However with new age fengshui of having the knob of the oven facing a auspicious direction to tap the beneficial qi is not to my taste as I can’t see how the knob can connect to energy or nice smelling air to make the food delicious. Though I would agree the direction of having your back protected when you are cooking makes more sense to me, i.e. you can see sideway when you are cooking and not having someone steals up to tap on to your shoulder in goodwill causing you to put more soy sauce or salt into your dish.

Anyway, for newbies, please remember that for house gua for the West or East groups house regardless of whether you belong to West groups or East Gua groups, maximise the beneficial four areas and do not based it on the Ming gua or the life gua of the person.

Yawn, a story before I go.

3001 A Ba Zhai Odyssey

On Board the RCSS captained by Dr.Spook approaching a new planet,

Mother Computer: ‘Announcing the landing time on Nebula V in an hour for EMT (Earth measured time)’

Dr. Spook: ‘Inform the Water Wind experts, Ehmm, I meant the geophysics teams to standby to analyse landforms dragon, oops, I means topography.’

Ah Hai, :’ Ah Hai and Team from Planet Earth reporting.’

Dr. Spook:’ Okay, have you anything to report at the moment’

Ah Hai: ‘I have nothing, sir, only a complaint’

Dr. Spook: ‘What’s the problem?’

Ah Hai: ‘ I had told the maintenance team to locate the kitchen in the Sheng Q Area before we launch off from Planet Earth two months ago and the idiots put it in a Wu Gui Area. And you can see that we have been having an increase of sick personnel for the last one month’

Joel, a financial executive officer : ‘Oh no, another of those Classical guys.’

Dr. Spook: ‘Please kindly rephrase your complaint for the benefits of the rest of our personnel not from Earth’

Ah Hai switching to his Inter interpret com.

Ah Hai: ‘The kitchen is supposed to be retrofitted to the left of the spacecraft next to our movie lounge so that after a nice meal, we can relax to watch a movie and not at the back next to the nuclear reactor in the area of the engine room causing radiation to get into our food.’

Joel, thinking to himself:’ Yap, those idiots also have no sense of direction, causes a lot of inconveniences for me and my beloved Ivy after candlelight dinner making me to go one big round when I want to go to my quarters for some romantics, kinky….’

Dr. Spook:’ Okay, noted. I will get them to relocate the kitchen once we have landed and I will give them a demerit point’

Ah Hai mumbling to himself: ‘What the%@#! Just a demerit point and no point scored when I have spent so much of my time in research.’

Dr. Spook:’ Team B, anything to report’

Gillian and her team B, trained from Catch the Dragon Institute of Great China, Earth. They are mainly natives from the large planet Jupiter from the Solar System, able to understand the intricacy of Gravity and composition of the atmosphere better because of the instability of their home planet. By the way, they have four legs similar to those Pi Xiu you see in Ancient China because of the instability of the magnetic field of Planet Jupiter. It is believed that they must have come to Earth thousands of years ago and mingle among earthlings disguised.

Gillian: ‘ Sir, we are analysing the behaviour of the planet on the Great Nine Stars theory and find that there is a possible volcanic eruption around VX1234 activated by the Lian Zhen or Fire Star from the Nearby Constellation in a week’s time( EMT).’

Ha-ha, to be continued…….

Cheers.
